My #COVID #Update for July 13, 2021 #Ward24 #Scarborough and #Toronto

Dear Neighbours,

Thank you for your efforts in keeping our community safe during these difficult times. Please review the City of Toronto’s COVID-19 Vaccines webpage, to inform yourself of the benefits of vaccination.

Reminders for when booking your second dose: A “mixed mRNA model” – mixing Pfizer and Moderna for first and second dose – is approved by both the federal and provincial governments. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are incredibly similar with near identical efficacy rates. Both vaccines have similar side effects. People are encouraged to get whichever vaccine is easiest or fastest for them to access.

Additionally, if you received a first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine you can choose to either receive a second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, or an mRNA (Pfizer or Moderna) vaccine for your second dose. Both second-dose options are safe and provide strong protection against COVID-19 and will count as a completed series. More details are available here.

Many residents have reached out to my office and 43 Division to install close-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in the Cornell community. The use of CCTV cameras is not intended to be a replacement for police officers but is an added tool to assist in enhancing public safety. By signing the petition, you will be supporting the partnership that the Toronto Police Service has with our community in improving the safety of the Cornell community.
