Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Woburn Park.
it is a pleasure to be here today to officially open the new playground here at Woburn Park.
I would like to thank the Parks Project Team, lead by Max Grandmaison,
for their hard work and commitment to bringing this new playground to Woburn Park.
I would also like to thank all the residents who participated in the on-line survey and providing their feedback, which helped determine the final design.
The new playground is compliant with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) for all to enjoy.
The City of Toronto upgrades 22 playgrounds annually,
these upgrades are essential in modernize the equipment and meeting latest safety standards.
Playgrounds benefit children by improving cognitive, social and physical development.
Woburn Park is destination for area residents, providing families with an opportunity for socializing, exercise and being close to nature.
On the final note, this passed Spring, project team will be asked residents for their feedback on the final design of the next step in the development of Woburn Park,
to install a Skate Spot, planned for completion in Summer 2027, with the work to begin next Spring.
