I would like to continue to thank everyone for their efforts during these difficult times.  It has been difficult for everyone. We must continue to fight the spread of COVID-19 and keep ourselves and our community safe by following the public health measures in place. *UPDATED* City of Toronto Immunization Clinic Eligibility Groups: Book through the provincial booking system at www.toronto.ca/covid19 or by calling 1-833-943-3900.

  • People age 18+ living in any of the 53 provincial hot spot postal codes – Scarborough-Guildwood hotspot postal codes include M1E, M1G, M1H, M1J and M1M
  • People age 50+ older
  • First Nations, Inuit and Métis individuals
  • People who are pregnant
  • People with high-risk health conditions & highest risk health conditions
  • *NEW* People with at-risk health conditions such as dementia, diabetes, sickle cell disease and others.
  • Employees unable to work from home listed by the Province of Ontario as Group One

*NEW* The Ontario government is adding high-risk health care workers to its list of those eligible to receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine earlier than the extended four-month interval. Eligibility for booking is expected by the end of the week of May 10, 2021 and booking details will be provided in the coming days – News Release.

COVID-19 Vaccination Town Hall for Toronto Residents

Toronto Public Health invites people who live, work or study in Toronto to a Town Hall about COVID-19 vaccines. Dr. Vinita Dubey, Associate Medical Officer of Health, will answer your questions about:

  • COVID-19 vaccines available in Canada
  • Vaccine safety and benefits
  • How to get vaccinated and who is eligible
  • Ways to reduce COVID-19 spread

No registration required. Choose from three upcoming session dates Wednesday May 12, Thursday May 13 or Saturday May 15.

Toronto Public Health issues Section 22 Order to education providers limiting in-person attendances of school-aged children effective Monday, May 10 at 12:01 a.m. The Order is available on the City website. 

The City of Toronto remains subject to a provincial wide Stay-at-Home order. The provincial wide shutdown requires all residents to remain home except for essential purposes. I encourage everyone to review the Province’s COVID-19 public health measures and advice, the City’s Guide for Toronto Residents and Changes to City Services for the most up-to-date information on public health guidelines and regulations.

Where to get accurate COVID-19 vaccine information

There is a lot of incorrect information about the COVID-19 vaccines on social media and group chats, such as WhatsApp. Accurate and trusted information can be found on the City’s COVID-19: Vaccines webpage. If you have questions about the vaccines, you should speak with your doctor or health care provider.

City of Toronto-Vaccine Hunters Canada to help residents quickly find available vaccine appointments at City-run clinics.

Vaccine appointment availability at all nine City clinics and will be displayed @VaxHuntersCan. More information is available on the City website.

Vaccine Eligibility Chart

The City of Toronto has created a vaccine eligibility chart to assist residents in clarifying eligibility stages and registration questions. You can find the vaccine eligibility chart here. Visit the VaccineTO website regularly to see if local clinics have available appointments.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic – Locations Map

All COVID-19 Immunization Clinics across the city, including City-run facilities, pharmacies and hospitals, are now mapped on the City’s website. Residents can search for the clinic closest to them by location or address. Additional Ward 24 specific vaccination sites can be found here. Residents must register for an appointment.

Do you need help getting to your vaccination appointment? The City’s Vaccine Equity Transportation Plan is piloting transportation services for individuals age 55+ who may be unable to access or afford existing transportation options to get to their vaccination appointments. Eligible residents can book their vaccination appointment at www.toronto.ca/covid-19 then book a ride contact with Toronto Ride, iRide or Scarborough Ride.

Vaccine Appointment booking for residents without OHIP Cards

Resident without OHIP cards who meet current vaccine eligibility criteria can request assistance to book their vaccination appointment at a City-run immunization clinic by contacting FCJ Refugee Centre, Access Alliance or Toronto Public Health. Residents without an OHIP card may use other forms of identification to book their COVID-19 vaccination appointment through agency partners. In-Home Vaccination for Homebound Persons

If you are a homebound person receiving care through a Primary Care Provider, Family Health Team, Home or Community Care or Community Support Services or Agencies, please contact your provider to learn whether they are able to offer in-home vaccination.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update: (Data as of May 11, 2021) There has been an increase of 787 COVID-19 cases in the City with 32 newly reported hospitalized cases. Through the pandemic the City has seen a total of 157,934 cases of COVID-19, of these, 144,095 cases have recovered. To this date, there have been 3,205 COVID-19 deaths in Toronto. Case status data can be found on the City’s reporting platform.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Vaccination Update: Together, the City of Toronto, healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health have now administered more than one million COVID-19 vaccines. To date 1,489,583 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto. Toronto is the first local health region in Canada to administer more than one million doses of vaccine. Vaccination dose data can be found on the City’s COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard.

COVID-19 Vaccination Tracker Canada: You can review regular data on doses administered, doses delivered and percentage of the Canadian population that has received at least one dose on the COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker page.  

City of Toronto highlights spring cleanup accomplishments while recognizing Provincial Day of Action on Litter – News Release. *NEW* City of Toronto opens more than 3,500 new vaccination appointments for next week – News Release. This afternoon, 2,430 new vaccination appointments between May 10 and 12 at the City of Toronto immunization clinic at Malvern Community Recreation Centre in Scarborough were added to the provincial vaccine booking system. In addition, more than 1,000 appointments have also been added on May 11 at the City-operated Metro Toronto Convention Centre clinic.

COVID-19 Vaccine Pop-Ups – NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED – First come first serve basis by Postal Code. Proof of address is required (drivers license or utility bill). Bring your health card if you have one or other government issued ID.

Ontario Pharmacy Vaccination Booking, Eligibility and Locations. Participating pharmacies and primary care settings are now offering vaccination appointments to individuals age 40 and over. In addition, 16 Shoppers Drug Mart locations in the hot-spot communities of Toronto, Peel and York Region, will begin offering the vaccine 24/7, starting as early as today. Eligible residents can contact a participating pharmacy directly to make an appointment. Find your closest pharmacy to register to get the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on the Province’s website.

*NEW* Scarborough Health Network COVID-19 Vaccine Pop-Up Clinics

SHN is hosting pop-up clinics for residents in M1B and M1M hot spot neighbourhoods.

M1B Residents who are 18+ St. Florence Catholic School (101 Murison Blvd) May 4 & 5 | 9am to 9pmM1M Residents who are 18+ Scarborough Village Recreation Centre (3600 Kingston Rd) May 4 & 5 | 9am to 9pm

Proof of address is required. Tickets will be provided for same-day appointments starting in the morning of the pop ups on a first come first serve basis. For more information please visit www.scarbvaccine.ca

As of Thursday, May 6, all people age 50 and older, First Nations, Inuit and Métis individuals, individuals with high-risk health conditions and employees unable to work from home listed by the Government of Ontario under Group One will also be able to book first dose appointments.

*NEW* Forty per cent of eligible Toronto residents vaccinated as of May 1

The City of Toronto and vaccination partners have now administered at least a first dose of vaccine to 40 per cent of eligible Torontonians. This includes the thousands of people who have received doses through the Team Toronto Sprint Strategy that is focused on getting people vaccinated in hot spot postal codes. The City and vaccination partners are seeing double digit increases in vaccination rates in the hottest hot spots – good progress with more to be done. Across the 13 postal codes prioritized in the strategy, 36.6 per cent of adults have now received a first dose of vaccine.

There is a lot of incorrect information about the COVID-19 vaccines on social media and group chats, such as WhatsApp. Accurate and trusted information can be found on the City’s COVID-19: Vaccines webpage. If you have questions about the vaccines, you should speak with your doctor or health care provider.

City of Toronto partners with Vaccine Hunters Canada to help residents quickly find available vaccine appointments at City-run clinics

The City has partnered with Vaccine Hunters Canada to help Toronto community members identify available next-day appointments at City-run immunization clinics. As vaccine availability becomes more plentiful next week, more appointments will be available at all nine City clinics and will be displayed @VaxHuntersCan. More information is available on the City website.

The City of Toronto has created a vaccine eligibility chart to assist residents in clarifying eligibility stages and registration questions. You can find the vaccine eligibility chart here. Visit the VaccineTO website regularly to see if local clinics have available appointments.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic – Locations Map

All COVID-19 Immunization Clinics across the city, including City-run facilities, pharmacies and hospitals, are now mapped on the City’s website. Residents can search for the clinic closest to them by location or address. Additional Ward 24 specific vaccination sites can be found here. Residents must register for an appointment.

Select Ontario pharmacies offering 24/7 COVID-19 vaccinations. Participating pharmacies and primary care settings are now offering vaccination appointments to individuals age 40 and over. In addition, 16 Shoppers Drug Mart locations in the hot-spot communities of Toronto, Peel and York Region, will begin offering the vaccine 24/7, starting as early as today. Eligible residents can contact a participating pharmacy directly to make an appointment. Find your closest pharmacy to register to get the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on the Province’s website.

Do you need help getting to your vaccination appointment? The City’s Vaccine Equity Transportation Plan is piloting transportation services for seniors ages 75+ who may be unable to access or afford existing transportation options to get to their vaccination appointments. Eligible residents can book their vaccination appointment at www.toronto.ca/covid-19 then book a ride contact with Toronto Ride, iRide or Scarborough Ride.

Vaccine Appointment booking for residents without OHIP Cards

Resident without OHIO cards who meet current vaccine eligibility criteria can request assistance to book their vaccination appointment at a City-run immunization clinic by contacting FCJ Refugee Centre, Access Alliance or Toronto Public Health. Residents without an OHIP card may use other forms of identification to book their COVID-19 vaccination appointment through agency partners. In-Home Vaccination for Homebound Persons

If you are a homebound person receiving care through a Primary Care Provider, Family Health Team, Home or Community Care or Community Support Services or Agencies, please contact your provider to learn whether they are able to offer in-home vaccination.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update: (Data as of May 3, 2021) There has been an increase of 3,111 COVID-19 cases in the City with 201 newly reported hospitalized cases. Through the pandemic the City has seen a total of 151,197 cases of COVID-19, of these, 135,409 cases have recovered. To this date, there have been 3,115 COVID-19 deaths in Toronto. Case status data can be found on the City’s reporting platform.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Vaccination Update: Together, the City of Toronto, healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health have now administered more than one million COVID-19 vaccines. To date 1,204,543 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto. Toronto is the first local health region in Canada to administer more than one million doses of vaccine. Vaccination dose data can be found on the City’s COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard.

COVID-19 Vaccination Tracker Canada: You can review regular data on doses administered, doses delivered and percentage of the Canadian population that has received at least one dose on the COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker page.  

Mayor John Tory Proclaims May Building Safety Month in Toronto – News Release.

Team Toronto vaccination Sprint Strategy getting results in 13 high priority postal codes, adding four more areas – News Release. The vaccine coverage for M1G and M1J postal codes increased from approximately 14% to almost 45% for those age 8 and older, surpassing the city-wide 36% coverage for people age 18+.

Education Bank COVID-19 Update: In response to the new Provincial guidelines, the Education Bank will be closed for the month of April. The Education Bank has shifted to a curb side pickup model which will allow families to select materials for pick up at the Family Service Centre. In addition, all childcare workers in licensed childcare settings will be eligible to book an appointment at a City-operated vaccination clinic through the provincial booking call centre as of tomorrow, April 29.

This Pop-up clinic is for M1P residents who are 18+ at David & Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute (125 Brockley Dr) on April 29 & 30 from 10am to 8pm. Proof of address is required. Dear Neighbours,

I would like to continue to thank everyone for their efforts during these difficult times.  It has been difficult for everyone. We must continue to fight the spread of COVID-19 and keep ourselves and our community safe by following the public health measures in place, it is important to social distance, only gather with persons who live in your home, maintain proper hygiene by washing your hands. It is also very important to continue to wear a mask even if you have been vaccinated. Remember, our mental health is paramount, we need to continue to take care of ourselves and seek support if needed.

Today, the Province of Ontario announced that it is extending and strengthening the provincial wide shut down and Stay-at-Home order for an additional 2 weeks. Enhanced public health measures and enforcement comes into effect Saturday, April 17 at 12:01am. The provincial wide shutdown requires all residents to remain home except for essential purposes. I encourage everyone to review the Province’s COVID-19 public health measures and advice, the City’s Guide for Toronto Residents and Changes to City Services.

Scarborough Health Network is inviting members of Scarborough’s Muslim community to a special virtual Town Hall – COVID-19 Vaccine and Wellness During Ramadan on Sunday April 18, 2021 from 11:45 am to 1:00pm. Members of the Muslim community can join to have your questions answered, learn more about the COVID-19 vaccines available to you and your family and how you and your community can get vaccinated. City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update: (Data as of April 15, 2021) There has been an increase of 1527 COVID-19 cases in the City with 813 people currently hospitalized. Through the pandemic the City has seen a total of 130,502 cases of COVID-19, of these, 114,535 cases have recovered. To this date, there have been 2,900 COVID-19 deaths in Toronto. City of Toronto COVID-19 Vaccination Update: The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners and Toronto Public health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. Scarborough Health Network (SHN) update on vaccine eligibility and clinic closures

Scarborough Health Network’s Scarborough Centre for Health Communities vaccination site is no longer taking vaccination appointments for the 18 to 49-year-old category. For latest information on mobile and pop-up clinics for this age category visit www.scarbvaccine.ca.

Scarborough Health Network’s has made the difficult decision to close the Centennial College and Centenary hospital clinics beginning today, April 14th, as a result of the lack of adequate vaccine supply. SHN is contacting everyone whose vaccination appointment is impacted by this closing and rebooking for the earliest available opportunity.

How to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment at a City-run clinic

Residents age 50 and older living in COVID-19 hot spot postal codes can book vaccination appointments at City-run immunization clinics. Residents age 60 and older can book appointments regardless of where they live in Toronto. Eligible residents are encouraged to book an appointment on www.toronto.ca/covid19 or by phone through the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488.

Pharmacy and Primary Care Locations for COVID-19 vaccinations for residents age 55+

Participating pharmacies and primary care settings continue to offer vaccination appointments to individuals age 55 and over. Eligible residents can contact a participating pharmacy directly to make an appointment. Find your closest pharmacy to get the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on the Province’s website.

How to book a COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment: There are several options to book a vaccination appointment at a City-run clinic, a preferred hospital or community agency.

In-Home Vaccination for Homebound Persons

If you are a homebound person receiving care through a Primary Care Provider, Family Health Team, Home or Community Care or Community Support Services or Agencies, please contact your provider to learn whether they are able to offer in-home vaccination.

All COVID-19 Immunization Clinics across the city, including City-run facilities, pharmacies and hospitals, are now mapped on the City’s website. Residents can search for the clinic closest to them by location or address. Additional Ward 24 specific vaccination sites can be found here.

The City’s Vaccine Equity Transportation Plan is piloting transportation services for seniors ages 75+ who may be unable to access or afford existing transportation options to get to their vaccination appointments. COVID-19 tests are available at assessment centres, pop-up and mobile testing facilities and pharmacies. The City of Toronto remains under a provincial wide shutdown and subject to a Stay-at-Home order. The provincial wide shutdown requires all residents to remain home except for essential purposes. City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update: (Data as of April 13, 2021) There has been an increase of 1332 COVID-19 cases in the City with 730 people currently hospitalized. Through the pandemic the City has seen a total of 127,769 cases of COVID-19, of these, 112,740 cases have recovered. To this date, there have been 2,878 COVID-19 deaths in Toronto. Case status data can be found on the City’s reporting platform.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Vaccination Update: The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners and Toronto Public health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 804,008 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto. Vaccination dose data can be found on the City’s COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard.

Education Bank COVID-19 Update: In response to the new Provincial guidelines, the Education Bank will be closed for the month of April. The Education Bank has shifted toa curb side pickup model which will allow families to select materials for pick up at the Family Service Centre. You can complete the following Google Form to select items for pick up.

Toronto Accessibility Task Force (ATF) on COVID-19 Vaccines to address equity gaps in vaccine access for people with disabilities. The ATF was created as part of the City of Toronto’s COVID-19 Immunization Task Force (ITC) outreach efforts and TOSupports: Targeted Equity Action Plan and is a collaboration between the City and community partners. Given the high risks associated with COVID-19 for people with disabilities, the ATF is set to make recommendations to immediately reduce the number of COVID-19 cases and effectively address issues around accessibility. High Park cherry blossoms go virtual again with #BloomAtHome, park remains open for local use. With the warm spring weather and bud development on the City of Toronto’s cherry blossom trees, the City is making arrangements for Torontonians to experience the bloom of the High Park cherry blossom trees from home again this year.  To encourage residents to stay home and stay safe, the City will provide a 24-hour 4K ‘BloomCam’ of the blossoming trees in High Park at www.toronto.ca/cherryblossoms allowing residents to experience the #BloomAtHome.

Scarborough Health Network is inviting members of Scarborough’s Muslim community to a special virtual Town Hall – COVID-19 Vaccine and Wellness During Ramadan on Sunday April 18, 2021 from 11:45 am to 1:00pm. My #COVID Update for April 8, 2021 for #Ward24 #Scarborough and #Toronto

Dear Neighbours,

I would like to continue to thank everyone for their efforts during these difficult times, I know it has been tough, but we must continue to fight the spread of COVID-19 and keep ourselves and our community safe. With the vaccine roll out we are seeing progress.  It is also important to remember, our mental health is paramount, and that we take care of ourselves and seek support if needed.

As of today, the City of Toronto is in under a provincial wide shutdown and subject to a Stay-at-Home order. The provincial wide shutdown requires all residents to remain home except for essential purposes. I encourage everyone to visit the City of Toronto website to review the City’s Guide for Toronto Residents and Changes to City Services.

Stay Home and Get Vaccinated

While vaccination is not mandatory, everyone is strongly encouraged to get vaccinated. Join your family and friends and plan to get vaccinated once vaccines become available to you.

Starting tomorrow, April 9 at 8am, City of Toronto run immunization clinic vaccination appointments will be open to residents age 50+ from 53 identified COVID-19 hot spot postal codes. Scarborough hot spot postal codes are the following: M1B, M1C, M1E, M1G, M1H, M1J, M1K, M1M, M1P, M1R, M1S, M1T, M1V, M1W, M1X, M1X. Eligible residents can book online at www.toronto.ca/covid-19 or by calling 1-888-999-6488. To view the 53 identified Toronto hotspot postal codes please review this news release.

Also, Scarborough Health Network is currently booking appointments for residents ages 50+ in the following hot spot neighbourhoods, based off COVID-19 case numbers: M1B, M1G, M1J, M1K, M1P, M1T and M1V. Eligible residents can book a vaccination appointment through SHN at www.scarbvaccine.ca.

With Ramadan right around the corner, please review the following regulations for Religious Services under the provincial wide shutdown:

  • Indoor religious services, where physical distancing can be maintained are limited to 15% room capacity;
  • Outdoor religious services are limited to the number of people that can maintain a physical distance of 2 metres from each other;
  • Indoor social gatherings associated with or following a religious service are not permitted. Outdoor social gatherings where physical distancing can be maintained are limited to five people or fewer;
  • Mosques/Places of worship may broadcast calls to prayer during the month of Ramada without a City noise exemption permit. Please review the City’s Guide for Toronto Residents for more information.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Vaccination Update: The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners and Toronto Public health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 665,367 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto. Vaccination dose data can be found on the City’s COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard.

COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility: The City is currently vaccinating residents age 60 and older at its City-run mass immunization clinics. Health sector partners in Toronto are vaccinating priority groups, based on the Province of Ontario’s Ethical Framework for COVID-19 Vaccine Prioritization.

How to Book a COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment

There are several options to book an appointment at a City-run clinic or at a preferred hospital or community agency. These are the easiest ways for eligible residents to book appointments:

City-run Mass Immunization Clinics: Appointments at City-run clinics for eligible residents are currently available at six locations:

  • Metro Toronto Convention Centre
  • Scarborough Town Centre
  • Toronto Congress Centre

SCHC COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic @ the HUB! Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities has opened a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Hub site at 2660 Eglinton Ave E. Eligible individuals are invited to register for an appointment! For more information on eligibility requirements and how to register please see this flyer!

Toronto City Council approved the return of a more flexible and expanded ActiveTO program in 2021. Major Weekend Road Closures will return and include opportunities to expand or adapt locations and dates to support communities as well as planned construction. The cycling networks will also be expanded through a new complete street pilot project along midtown Yonge Street. Learn more about ActiveTO here.

Toronto Fire Services is working with First Alert to protect Toronto communities. First Alert has donated 100 smoke alarms that will be distributed in an east end Toronto community. The Toronto Professional Firefighter’s Association has matched this gift with the donation of another 100 smoke alarms. Ensuring Toronto residents have working smoke alarms year-round is more important than ever as residents are spending more time indoors due to the ongoing pandemic. My #COVID Community Update for #Ward24 #Scarborough & #Toronto for April 7, 2021

Ontario Enacts Provincial emergency and Stay-at-Home Order

The City of Toronto is in a province-wide shutdown and will be subject to a Stay-at-Home order as of 12:01 am on Thursday April 8, 2021. The province-wide shutdown requires all residents to remain home except for essential purposes, such as visits to the grocery, pharmacy, accessing health care services and outdoor exercise, or for work that cannot be done remotely. I encourage everyone to visit the City’s website to review the City’s Guide for Toronto Residents and Changes to City Services. For more information please read this news release.

City of Toronto working with healthcare and community partners to launch Phase 2 vaccine rollout in priority neighbourhoods

“Team Toronto’s” plan for Phase 2 of the vaccine rollout is a working partnership with Toronto Public Health, hospitals, Ontario Health Teams, doctors in the community, and mobile and pop-up teams to bring vaccines directly to high-risk groups, including high-risk neighbourhoods and essential workers.

Public health officials have been very clear that vaccines must get to the “hot spot” neighbourhoods that need it the most. Ontario Health Teams and hospital mobile and popup clinics are working on vaccinating people age 18+ in these “hot spot” neighbourhoods, identified by their postal codes. Starting Friday, April 9, residents age 50+ in high-risk areas, identified by postal code, will be able to book a vaccine appointment at City-run clinics. “Hot spot” postal codes identified by Scarborough Health Network include: M1B, M1G, M1J, M1K, M1P, M1T and M1V. Targeting “hot spot” areas is a new update to our vaccine rollout, more information on “hot spot” neighbourhoods will be provided as soon as possible.

Phase 2 rollout will continue over the coming weeks. Right now, all partners continue to carry out Phase 1 vaccination priorities and expand Phase 2 pilot programs. For more information please read this news release.

How to Book a COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment

There are several options to book an appointment at a City-run clinic or at a preferred hospital or community agency. These are the easiest ways for eligible residents to book appointments:

City-run Mass Immunization Clinics: Appointments at City-run clinics for eligible residents are available at all six locations:

  • Metro Toronto Convention Centre
  • Scarborough Town Centre
  • Toronto Congress Centre
  • Malvern Community Recreation Centre
  • Mitchel Field Centre
  • The Hangar

The City’s remaining three immunization clinics, Cloverdale Mall, North Toronto Memorial Community Centre and Carmine Stefano Community, are set to open on Monday, April 12 at 11am. Each clinic will operate seven days per week from 11am to 8pm. A video tour showing what residents can expect at City-operated mass immunization clinics is available on the City’s YouTube channel.

Do you need help getting to your vaccination appointment? The City’s Vaccine Equity Transportation Plan is piloting transportation services for seniors ages 75+ who may be unable to access or afford existing transportation options to get to their vaccination appointments. Eligible residents can book their vaccination appointment at www.toronto.ca/covid-19 then book a ride contact with Toronto Ride, iRide or Scarborough Ride.

Virtual Move Your Paws for the Polar Bear Cause Walk/Run raises over $34,800 for one of the world’s most vulnerable species! For the first time, the 8th Annual Move Your Pause for Polar Bear Cause 1k/5k Walk/Run was hosted virtually. This popular event took place from Saturday, February 27 to Monday, March 29, 2021, challenging participants to meet an initial shared movement goal of 10,000 km and a fundraising goal of $15,000, all in support of Polar bear conservation. Public Consultations on Toronto’s Next Chief of Police. There are still spots available to participate in a public discussion about what Torontonians are looking for in the next Chief of Police. Scarborough’s public session will take place on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm. If you’re interested in participating, please register here. The Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities would like to invite you to a COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall on Monday, April 12th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Questions on vaccine developments will be answered. Live translations will be available in Tamil, Hindi and Urdu. Register now!

Good Guides Local Food Drive! The Good Guides is partnering with The NBYMP Foundation to support the Scarborough Center for Healthy Communities. They will be collecting all non-perishable food items at 4100 Lawrence Ave. E. until April 16. Please click here and read the instructions prior to dropping off or requesting pickup of items. Get to know your Neighbourhood Community Officers (NCOs) – Danzig Street (West Hill)! Toronto Police NCOs work in close partnership with local residents to address community safety and quality of life issues. Mother’s Day Baskets for Rosalie Hall! Rosalie Hall is an outreach centre providing comprehensive support for young mothers and their children. The 43 Division Community Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) is seeking donations to support young mothers by putting together 10 gift baskets to be presented to Rosalie Hall for Mother’s Day on Friday, May 7th. I would like to continue to thank everyone for their efforts during these difficult times, I know it has been tough, but we must continue to fight the spread of COVID-19 and keep ourselves and our community safe. With the vaccine roll out we are seeing progress.  It is also important to remember, our mental health is paramount, and that we take care of ourselves and seek support if needed.

*New* COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Locations Map

All COVID-19 Immunization Clinics across the city, including City-run facilities, pharmacies and hospitals, are now mapped on the City’s website. Residents can search for the clinic closest to them by location or address.

COVID-19 Testing Sites including Pop-up Sites – updated daily

COVID-19 tests are available at assessment centres, pop-up and mobile testing facilities and pharmacies. Learn more about COVID-19 testing locations and eligibility, including locations of upcoming pop-up testing sites, by visiting toronto.ca/COVID19Testing.The website features a map to help you easily find a testing location near you.

Select pharmacies are booking appointments for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines for people aged 60+ as part of Ontario’s pharmacy pilot. To find the pharmacy locations in Scarborough please visit this webpage.

As of today the City of Toronto remains in the Grey Zone of the Lockdown Regulation under the Provincial COVID-19 response framework. Regardless of the zone colour, all people should continue to stay home as much as possible and always follow public health guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and another lockdown. I encourage everyone to visit the City’s website to review the Response Framework Zone Changes and changes to City services.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update: (Data as of March 23, 2021) There has been an increase of 484 COVID-19 cases in the City with 271 people currently hospitalized. Through the pandemic the City has seen a total of 107,280 cases of COVID-19, of these, 99,270 cases have recovered. To this date, there have been 2,766 COVID-19 deaths in Toronto. Case status data can be found on the City’s reporting platform.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Immunization Update: The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners and Toronto Public health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 403,902 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto. Vaccination dose data can be found on the City’s COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard.

COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility: Health sector partners in Toronto are currently vaccinating priority groups, based on the Province of Ontario’s Ethical Framework for COVID-19 Vaccine Prioritization. Yesterday, the Province expanded their vaccine booking systems to include individuals age 75+.

PLEASE REGISTER COVID-19 Vaccine Registration: Eligible seniors, can book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment at a City of Toronto run clinic online at www.toronto.ca/covid-19 or book by phone through the Provincial Vaccine Booking line at 1-833-943-3900 (TTY 1-866-797-0007).

Health sector partners in Toronto are vaccinating priority group residents by using the vaccine allocated to them directly by the province. Registration information for those eligible to be vaccinated by health sector partners can be done at vaccineto.ca or 1-888-385-1910.

Scarborough Health Network encourages all eligible Scarborough residents to register for vaccinations. Vaccinations in Scarborough are currently being administered at the Centennial College and Centenary Hospital sites. City-run Clinic Openings: Three of the City-run mass immunization clinics are open at Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front St. W., Scarborough Town Centre, 300 Borough Dr., and Toronto Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Rd.

As of March 29, clinics at Malvern Community Recreation Centre and Mitchell Field Centre will open, followed by The Hangar location on April 5. Each clinic will operate seven days per week from 11am to 8pm. A video tour showing what residents can expect at City-operated mass immunization clinics is available on the City’s YouTube channel.

The City of Toronto announced the Vaccine Equity Transportation Plan, a multi-faceted plan to help ensure vulnerable residents and seniors can access COVID-19 vaccinations by removing barriers to transportation and making it easier to travel to clinics. This program is intended for those who have limited transportation options or who cannot afford transportation to vaccination appointments. Starting March 29, the City is piloting transportation options for seniors aged 75 years old and over by extending service hours for assisted ride services provided by community organizations. Eligible residents can book a ride contact with Toronto Ride, iRide or Scarborough Ride. For more information please read this news release.

The City of Toronto is working with TTC to provide COVID-19 vaccine registration information to 26,000 Wheel-Trans customers. The City of Toronto is working with Wheel-Trans to ensure its customers – many whom are seniors – have all the information they need to register for a COVID-19 vaccination appointment at a City-run mass immunization clinic. To help the City reach as many people as possible, Wheel-Trans will be providing rides to City-run mass vaccination sites for existing Wheel-Trans customers and for those who qualify for Wheel-Trans service. City of Toronto is making an additional $3 million available to all shelters, 24-hour respite sites, temporary response programs and daytime drop-ins to support implementation of additional Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) measures. The measures respond to the emergence of COVID-19 variants of concern (VOCs), which create increased risk due to their potentially greater transmissibility. The additional $3 million is part of the support provided by the Province of Ontario’s Social Services Relief Funding and the Government of Canada’s Reaching Home Funding. The City of Toronto has moved into the Grey Zone of the Lockdown Regulation under the Provincial COVID-19 response framework. City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update: (Data as of March 9, 2021) There has been an increase of 473 COVID-19 cases in the City with 264 people currently hospitalized. Through the pandemic the City has seen a total of 100,897 cases of COVID-19, of these, 94,183 cases have recovered. To this date, there have been 2,699 COVID-19 deaths in Toronto. Scarborough Health Network opened COVID-19 vaccine clinic and registration portal for residents in the 80+ age category. SHN’s registration portal is open for residents in the 80+ age category to directly book a vaccination appointment. Vaccinations in Scarborough are currently being administered at the Centennial College and Centenary Hospital sites. COVID-19 Pharmacy Vaccine Locations: Starting today, March 10, select pharmacies are booking appointments for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines for people born between 1957 and 1961 (age 60 to 64) as part of Ontario’s pharmacy pilot. To find the pharmacy locations in Scarborough please visit this webpage.

City of Toronto is opening 133,000 online COVID-19 vaccination bookings for City-run immunization clinics for residents born in 1941 or earlier. Bookings for residents who will be 80 years of age or older in 2021 will be available through a prominent registration link on www.toronto.ca/covid-19 starting this Friday, March 12. Appointments will be held at one of the three City-operated immunization clinics that will open on March 17:

  • Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 225 Front St. W.
  • Scarborough Town Centre, 300 Borough Dr.
  • Toronto Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Rd.

The City has assembled a list of frequently asked questions about City of Toronto online COVID-19 vaccination booking for residents born in 1941 or earlier to help eligible residents understand the appointment booking process for City-operated clinics.

City of Toronto launches city-wide community mobilization vaccine campaign. The City of Toronto and Toronto Public Health are working with the Province of Ontario and health sector and community partners to vaccinate people across Toronto as quickly as possible to stop the spread of COVID-19. As part of the City’s efforts to ensure every resident in every corner of Toronto can access a vaccine, the City has released a call for proposals for $5.5 million in funding to Toronto’s community services sector who will act as local lead agencies for vaccination efforts across 140 neighbourhoods. This campaign is expected to play a significant role in Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the provincial vaccine process as vaccine supply increases. For more information please read this news release.

City of Toronto commemorates one year in the ongoing fight against COVID-19. Since March 2020, the City of Toronto’s Emergency Operations Centre has been activated in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Over the next few weeks, the City will mark several COVID-19 milestone dates that are significant to Torontonians and remind us of the importance of our continued efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19. Today, Toronto City Council approves Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with United Property Resource Corporation (UPRC) to create 500 new affordable homes. This is the first proposal under the City’s Land Bank Initiative. Creating new affordable rental housing with increase the opportunity for vulnerable and marginalized Toronto residents/Torontonians, including Indigenous Peoples, Black people, People of Colour, seniors, women and members of LGBTQ2S+ community to access safe, healthy and adequate homes. Today, Toronto City Council unanimously approved creating 971 new affordable rental homes in 15 developments through the Open-Door Program. With today’s endorsement by Council, a total of 11,143 affordable rental homes have now been approved through the City of Toronto’s Open-Door Program (ODP). This program is designed to accelerate affordable housing construction by providing a range of incentives from the City, which could include an exemption of fees, charges or property tax; capital funding; the fast-tracking of planning approvals; and activating surplus public land. The City is hosting a solutions-focused conversation on gun violence for Scarborough as part of their SafeTO plan consultations. Community Engagement Review: Help shape how the City of Toronto engages communities around new shelters and other services for people experiencing homelessness. Residents interested in providing input to the Community Engagement Review can participate in a virtual focus group or participate in an anonymous online survey, open until March 11, 2021. SafeTO Survey: The City of Toronto is currently in the process of developing an updated Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan called SafeTO. This plan will guide how social systems that serve Torontonians such as community services, healthcare systems, justice systems and police work together to meet community needs by changing how we think about safety. Provide your input by taking this survey by March 15, 2021.

Toronto Zoo Master Plan Concept Survey: The Toronto Zoo wants to hear from you to gather feedback from the community on the Master Plan project, superficially focusing on the testing of specific ideas or “alternatives” being considered for implementation. The survey will be open until March 23, 2021.

Grass and Weeds Bylaw Review: The Grass and Weeds Bylaw requires that grass and weeds on private property must be maintained so that growth does not exceed 20 cm in height. However, property owners or occupants can apply for a permit to be exempted from this requirement if they have a natural garden. The City would like to know what you think about the current process to get a permit for your natural garden.
