With the vaccine roll out we are seeing progress.&nbsp; It is also important to remember, our mental health is paramount, and that we take care of ourselves and seek support if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a><strong>As of today, the City of Toronto is in under a provincial wide shutdown and subject to a Stay-at-Home order.<\/strong><\/a> The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/regulation\/200082\">provincial wide shutdown<\/a> requires all residents to remain home except for essential purposes. I encourage everyone to visit the City of Toronto website to review the City\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-reopening-recovery-rebuild\/covid-19-guide-for-toronto-residents\/\">Guide for Toronto Residents<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-latest-city-of-toronto-news\/affected-city-services\/\">Changes to City Services.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stay Home and Get Vaccinated<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While vaccination is not mandatory, everyone is strongly encouraged to get vaccinated. Join your family and friends and plan to get vaccinated once vaccines become available to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting tomorrow, April 9 at 8am, City of Toronto run immunization clinic vaccination appointments will be open to residents age 50+ from 53 identified COVID-19 hot spot postal codes. Scarborough hot spot postal codes are the following: M1B, M1C, M1E, M1G, M1H, M1J, M1K, M1M, M1P, M1R, M1S, M1T, M1V, M1W, M1X, M1X. Eligible residents can book online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/covid-19\">www.toronto.ca\/covid-19<\/a> or by calling 1-888-999-6488. To view the 53 identified Toronto hotspot postal codes please review this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/news\/city-of-toronto-vaccination-clinic-bookings-opening-tomorrow-to-residents-age-50-and-older-from-53-postal-codes-identified-as-covid-19-hot-spots\/\">news release.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, Scarborough Health Network is currently booking appointments for residents ages 50+ in the following hot spot neighbourhoods, based off COVID-19 case numbers: M1B, M1G, M1J, M1K, M1P, M1T and M1V. Outdoor social gatherings where physical distancing can be maintained are limited to five people or fewer;<\/li><li>Mosques\/Places of worship may broadcast calls to prayer during the month of Ramada without a City noise exemption permit. Please review the City\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-reopening-recovery-rebuild\/covid-19-guide-for-toronto-residents\/\">Guide for Toronto Residents<\/a> for more information.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Locations Map<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All COVID-19 Immunization Clinics across the city, including City-run facilities, pharmacies and hospitals, are now mapped on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-protect-yourself-others\/covid-19-vaccines\/covid-19-how-to-get-vaccinated\/covid-19-future-city-operated-immunization-clinics\/#location=30%20Ashbridges%20Bay%20Park%20Rd&amp;lat=43.658728287988126&amp;lng=-79.31227684020998\">City\u2019s website<\/a>. Residents can search for the clinic closest to them by location or address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>COVID-19 Testing Sites including Pop-up Sites \u2013 updated daily<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>COVID-19 tests are available at assessment centres, pop-up and mobile testing facilities and pharmacies. Learn more about COVID-19 testing locations and eligibility, including locations of upcoming pop-up testing sites, by visiting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-what-you-should-do\/covid-19-have-symptoms-or-been-exposed\/covid-19-assessment-centres\/\">toronto.ca\/COVID19Testing<\/a>.The website features a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-what-you-should-do\/covid-19-have-symptoms-or-been-exposed\/covid-19-assessment-centres\/covid-19-assessment-centres-pharmacies\/#location=&amp;lat=&amp;lng=\">map<\/a> to help you easily find a testing location near you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update:<\/strong> <strong><em>(Data as of April 7, 2021) <\/em><\/strong>There has been an increase of<strong> 1010 COVID-19 cases<\/strong> in the City with<strong> 419 people currently hospitalized<\/strong>. Through the pandemic the City has seen <strong>a total of 120,557 cases of COVID-19<\/strong>, of these, <strong>107,935 cases have recovered<\/strong>. To this date, there have been <strong>2,837 COVID-19 deaths<\/strong> in Toronto. Case status data can be found on the City\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-latest-city-of-toronto-news\/covid-19-status-of-cases-in-toronto\/\">reporting platform<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>City of Toronto COVID-19 Vaccination Update: <\/strong>The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners and Toronto Public health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date,<strong> 665,367 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered<\/strong> in Toronto. Vaccination dose data can be found on the City\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-latest-city-of-toronto-news\/covid-19-status-of-cases-in-toronto\/\">COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a><strong>COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility: <\/strong><\/a>The City is currently vaccinating residents age 60 and older at its City-run mass immunization clinics. Health sector partners in Toronto are vaccinating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-protect-yourself-others\/covid-19-vaccines\/covid-19-how-to-get-vaccinated\/?accordion=vaccine-eligibility\">priority groups, based on the Province of Ontario\u2019s Ethical Framework for COVID-19 Vaccine Prioritization<\/a>. <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Book a COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several options to book an appointment at a City-run clinic or at a preferred hospital or community agency. These are the easiest ways for eligible residents to book appointments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>City-run clinics (online): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/covid-19\">www.toronto.ca\/covid-19<\/a><\/li><li>City-run clinics (phone): 1-833-943-3900 (TTY 1-866-797-0007)<\/li><li>Hospital clinics (online): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vaccineto.ca\">www.vaccineto.ca<\/a><\/li><li>Hospital clinics (phone): 1-888-385-1910<\/li><li>Scarborough Health Network (online): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scarbvaccine.ca\">www.scarbvaccine.ca<\/a><\/li><li>Scarborough Health Network (phone): 1-888-385-1910<\/li><li>Pharmacy Pilot Locations can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/covid-19.ontario.ca\/vaccine-locations\">this webpage.<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>City-run Mass Immunization Clinics: <\/strong>Appointments at City-run clinics for eligible residents are currently available at six locations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Metro Toronto Convention Centre<\/li><li>Scarborough Town Centre<\/li><li>Toronto Congress Centre<\/li><li>Malvern Community Recreation Centre<\/li><li>Mitchel Field Centre<\/li><li>The Hangar<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The City\u2019s remaining three immunization clinics, Cloverdale Mall, North Toronto Memorial Community Centre and Carmine Stefano Community, are set to open on Monday, April 12 at 11am. Each clinic will operate seven days per week from 11am to 8pm. A video tour showing what residents can expect at City-operated mass immunization clinics is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ek0r7fjjUUg\">City\u2019s YouTube channel.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do you need help getting to your vaccination appointment? <\/strong>The City\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/news\/city-of-toronto-and-partners-announce-vaccine-equity-transportation-plan\/\">Vaccine Equity Transportation Plan<\/a> is piloting transportation services for seniors ages 75+ who may be unable to access or afford existing transportation options to get to their vaccination appointments. Eligible residents can book their vaccination appointment at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/covid-19\">www.toronto.ca\/covid-19<\/a> then book a ride contact with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.torontoride.ca\/\">Toronto Ride<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.circleofcare.com\/vaccinerides\">iRide<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schcontario.ca\/scarboroughride.html\">Scarborough Ride<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Education Bank COVID-19 Update: <\/strong>In response to the new Provincial guidelines, the Education Bank will be closed for the month of April. The Education Bank has shifted toa curb side pickup model which will allow families to select materials for pick up at the Family Service Centre. You can complete the following <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfIkVAfU49JxjtBK3OWpSnuPWGGSnmf-C-DOEGKZB6gSVQ8qw\/viewform\">Google Form<\/a> to select items for pick up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Toronto Public Library COVID-19 Impacts \u2013 Provincial emergency and stay-at-home order: <\/strong>Due to the provincial restrictions, TPL branches remain open only for contactless holds pick-up and drop-off of library materials at the entrance. All other in-branch services are unavailable at this time. Please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tpl.ca\/covid19\">www.tpl.ca\/covid19<\/a> for updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SCHC COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic @ the HUB! <\/strong>Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities has opened a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Hub site at 2660 Eglinton Ave E. Eligible individuals are invited to register for an appointment! For more information on eligibility requirements and how to register please see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulainslie.com\/FILES\/2021\/HubClinic.pdf\">this flyer!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Toronto City Council approved the return of a more flexible and expanded ActiveTO program in 2021. <\/strong>Major Weekend Road Closures will return and include opportunities to expand or adapt locations and dates to support communities as well as planned construction. The cycling networks will also be expanded through a new complete street pilot project along midtown Yonge Street. Learn more about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/activeto\">ActiveTO here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Toronto Fire Services is working with First Alert to protect Toronto communities. <\/strong>First Alert has donated 100 smoke alarms that will be distributed in an east end Toronto community. The Toronto Professional Firefighter\u2019s Association has matched this gift with the donation of another 100 smoke alarms. Ensuring Toronto residents have working smoke alarms year-round is more important than ever as residents are spending more time indoors due to the ongoing pandemic.
