City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update:<\/strong> (Data as of February 15, 2021) <\/em><\/strong>There has been an increase of 334 COVID-19 cases<\/strong> in the City with 369 people currently hospitalized<\/strong>. Through the pandemic the City has seen a total of 93,185 cases of COVID-19<\/strong>, of these, 86,245 cases have recovered<\/strong>. To this date, there have been 2,560 COVID-19 deaths<\/strong> in Toronto. Case status data can be found on the City\u2019s reporting platform<\/a>. The Toronto Public Health unit remains under the <\/strong>shutdown and stay-at-home orders<\/strong><\/a> until February 22, 2021<\/strong> It remains imperative that we all respect the COVID-19 orders and stay home as much as possible. When you are outside of your home for essential purposes, remember to wear a mask or face covering, practice physical distancing and good hand hygiene. Ontario returning 27 Public Health Regions to Strengthened COVID-19 Response Framework. <\/strong>The Ontario government is transitioning 27 public health regions out of the shutdown into a revised and strengthened COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open<\/a> as of Today, February 16, 2021. The four remaining public health regions, Toronto, Peel, York and North Bay Parry Sound will remain in the shutdown and the <\/strong>stay-at-home order<\/strong><\/a>and all existing public health and workplace safety measures will continue to apply. An Extreme Cold Weather Alert (ECWA) is in effect in Toronto today, in anticipation of the cold weather conditions within the next 24 hours. <\/strong>The ECWA will be in effect until further notice.
