It is also important to remember, our mental health is paramount, and that we take care of ourselves and seek support if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To join the meeting at the time of the event:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To submit questions or comments before February 22 at 4:00pm:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update:<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong><em>(Data as of February 8, 2021)&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>There has been an&nbsp;<strong>increase of 419 COVID-19<\/strong>&nbsp;cases in the City with&nbsp;<strong>427 people currently hospitalized<\/strong>. Through the pandemic the City has seen a&nbsp;<strong>total of 90,965 cases of COVID-19<\/strong>, of these,&nbsp;<strong>83,044 cases have recovered<\/strong>. To this date, there have been&nbsp;<strong>2,519 COVID-19 deaths<\/strong>&nbsp;in Toronto. Case status data can be found on the City\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-latest-city-of-toronto-news\/covid-19-status-of-cases-in-toronto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reporting platform<\/a>. Province of Ontario status of COVID-19 Cases can be found&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/covid-19.ontario.ca\/data\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here.<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Toronto Public Health unit remains under the&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/page\/enhancing-public-health-and-workplace-safety-measures-provincewide-shutdown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>shutdown and stay-at-home orders<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;until February 22.<\/strong>&nbsp;It remains imperative that we all respect the COVID-19 orders and stay home as much as possible. When you are outside of your home for essential purposes, remember to wear a mask or face covering, practice physical distancing and good hand hygiene. If you have any questions about the COVID-19 vaccine please visit the City\u2019s webpage for the latest news and information at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/covid19vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.toronto.ca\/covid19vaccine<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Ontario government continues to implement its&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/news.ontario.ca\/en\/backgrounder\/59793\/ontario-supporting-high-priority-communities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>High Priority Communities Strategy<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;to provide targeted supports to 15 communities hardest hit by COVID-19.&nbsp;<\/strong>As part of the strategy, the province is providing $12.5 million to local lead agencies to work in partnership with Ontario Health, public health units, municipalities, and other community partners to help high risk neighbourhoods contain the spread of the virus and access services to better protect individuals and families.&nbsp;&nbsp;The province is also investing up to $42 million under the High Priority Communities Strategy to create about 1,500 spaces in approximately 11 COVID-19 isolation centres so people can self-isolate and keep their families and communities safe. For more information please read this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/news.ontario.ca\/en\/release\/60282\/ontario-supporting-covid-19-response-in-high-priority-communities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">news release.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Return to in-person learning at school \u2013 As you are aware Toronto schools are planning to re-open for in-person learning on February 16, 2021.&nbsp;<\/strong>Toronto Public Health has prepared important reminders to help you prepare your child for the return to school. Starting today everyone in a household should complete the updated COVID-19 symptom screening tool for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/94e5-Survey-poster-Schools.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">students<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/torontoca.sharepoint.com\/sites\/O365CouncillorAinslieTeam\/Shared%20Documents\/Marketing\/Eblasts\/toronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/9242-Screening-Questionaire-for-Staff-Visitors.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">staff\/visitors.&nbsp;<\/a>Students should bring a paper record or show your school\u2019s app to confirm that screening has been completed. Students are required to wear a mask properly at al times except when having a mask break or eating lunch. Be sure to pack an extra mask in case your child needs to change it.
