Toronto has now entered the Grey-Lockdown<\/u> level of restrictions in the <\/strong>Keeping Ontario Safe and Open Framework.<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>\u00a0Please stay home as much as possible, except for essential trips for groceries, healthcare, child care, school and work. Remember to practicephysical distancing<\/a>, washing your hands as often as possible and wear a mask or face covering<\/a>. Residents are asked to limit contact with people not in the same household and to remain at home when ill. I encourage you to read the Grey-Lockdown level guidelines<\/a> and the province\u2019s news release<\/a> for more information.

City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update:<\/strong> (Data as of November 23, 2020)<\/em> There has been an increase of 547 COVID-19 cases in the City of Toronto. There are 173 people currently hospitalized. <\/strong>Through the pandemic the City of Toronto has seen a total of 38,656 cases of COVID-19<\/strong>, of these, 32,537 cases have recovered<\/strong>. To this date, there have been 1,546 COVID-19 deaths<\/strong> in Toronto, an increase of 3 deaths from the day before. Case status data can be found on the City\u2019s reporting platform<\/a>. The City of Toronto has announced an updated and enhanced set of targeted COVID-19 measures to help with the city\u2019s most vulnerable residents during the lockdown. <\/strong>Based on data collected by Toronto Public Health many neighbourhoods experiencing higher COVID-19 case rates are in the northwest and northeast of the city. These targeted COVID-19 equity measures, which build on protections already implemented, include sharing public health information, improving access to COVID-19 testing and providing critical supports to individuals and their families during this lockdown. Knights of Columbus is hosting a Christmas Community Food Drive on Saturday December 12th<\/sup> from 9am to 12pm at St. Martin de Porres Church (Parking Lot), located at 4179 Lawrence Ave E. <\/strong>This will be a drive-through food drive with appropriate COVID-19 protocols in place. Community members are invited to bring non-perishable food items, much needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Members of the Knights of Columbus will take donations from the trunk of your car. The food items will then be delivered to community Food Banks, who will support over 1700 families this Christmas season.

People facing hunger in Toronto need our help! <\/strong>Toronto Miracle is inviting Toronto residents to leave a non-perishable food item on their doorstep (marked for Toronto Miracle) on December 5th<\/sup> at 10am<\/strong>. The Toronto BIA Office is now accepting applications for Stream 6 of the BIA Innovation Fund. <\/strong>Awards range from $5000 to $25000. Finding is Limited. Create a pollinator garden and help native pollinators from the threats of climate change, habitat loss, and other stressors.<\/strong> Grants of up to $5,000 are available to support community-led initiatives that result in the creation or expansion of pollinator habitat on public and private lands in Toronto. The deadline to apply for the City\u2019s PollinateTO Community Grant is January 8, 2021<\/strong>. The gardens will be planted in 2021.
