I have noted of the three vaccination clinics across Toronto, none are in the Scarborough or Eastern Toronto area. While I understand flu vaccines are also distributed to doctors, drug stores, and appropriate medical teams, a publicly run flu vaccination clinic plays an important role for people who cannot make use of other vaccination resources. <strong>I\u2019ve sent a letter to Dr. de Villa outlining the urgency for a flu vaccination clinic to open in Scarborough. You can read my full letter <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulainslie.com\/FILES\/2020\/2020_10_22_Flu_Vaccination_Clinics.pdf\"><strong>here.<\/strong><\/a><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As we continue to fight against of COVID-19<\/strong>, it is very important that we continue to take steps for self-protection, including, practice<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-protect-yourself-others\/covid-19-stay-reduce-virus-spread\/?accordion=physical-distancing\">physical distancing<\/a>, wash hands as often as possible, wear a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-what-you-should-do\/covid-19-orders-directives-by-laws\/mandatory-mask-or-face-covering-bylaw\/\">mask or face covering<\/a> where mandatory or when physical distancing cannot be maintained, consider only leaving home for essential activities such as work, education and fresh air and exercise. As much as possible, residents are asked to limit contact with people not in the same household and to remain at home when ill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a><strong>Stay safe and follow Public Health advice this Halloween. <\/strong><\/a>Torontonians have been called to take a different approach to Halloween this year to help stop the spread of COVID-19, including recommending against door-to-door trick-or-treating. There are several fun and creative alternative ways to celebrate Halloween this year, including encouraging kids to dress up and participate in virtual activities; organize a Halloween candy hunt with people living in their own household; carving pumpkins and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As more and more leaves begin to fall, <\/strong>when clearing up fallen leaves from your property please keep roadside catch basins clear of leaves and other debris to help water enter the storm sewer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>City of Toronto COVID-19 Case Update:<\/strong> <em>(Data as of October 22, 2020)<\/em> There has been an increase of 317 COVID-19 cases in the City of Toronto. Through the pandemic the City of Toronto has seen a total of <strong>25,913 cases of COVID-19<\/strong>, of these,<strong> 21,777 cases have recovered<\/strong>, an increase of 272 cases from the day before. There are <strong>123 people currently hospitalized, <\/strong>an increase of 17 cases from the day before<strong>. <\/strong>To this date, there have been <strong>1,346 COVID-19 deaths<\/strong> in Toronto, an increase of 2 deaths from the day before. Case status data can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-latest-city-of-toronto-news\/covid-19-status-of-cases-in-toronto\/\">the City\u2019s reporting platform<\/a>. Province of Ontario status of COVID-19 Cases can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/covid-19.ontario.ca\/data\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The City of Toronto\u2019s 50 Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) devices issued a total of 15,175 tickets <\/strong>between August 6 and September 5, the second month of issuing tickets to vehicles travelling in excess of the posted speed limit. The program began enforcement on July 6. According to the data, the number of repeat offenders during the second month of issuing tickets was 1,198. More information about the program and a map of all locations is available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/ASE\">www.toronto.ca\/ASE<\/a>. Anyone who receives an Automated Speed Enforcement ticket can view images of their offence online using the <a href=\"http:\/\/secure.toronto.ca\/CourtCaseLookUp\/welcome.jsf\">City\u2019s Court Case Look Up<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Toronto Public Health teams up with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment local athletes and coaches to raise awareness on actions residents can take to reduce COVID-19 spread <\/strong>and help keep everyone safer as we live with this virus. The first video features Toronto Raptors Head Coach Nick Nurse, the second features Toronto FC Captain Michael Bradley and the third features Toronto Maple Leafs Forward Zach Hyman. TPH&#8217;s Associate Medical Officer of Health Dr. Vinita Dubey also features in all videos. The videos will be shared on social media and are available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC9Ss45VwtWJPSlLsFauW3OA\">TPH&#8217;s YouTube channel.<\/a> More information can be read in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/news\/toronto-public-health-teams-up-with-maple-leaf-sports-and-entertainment-to-promote-ways-to-reduce-covid-19-spread\/\">news release.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>City of Toronto marks milestone in delivery of first modular housing building. <\/strong>At the 11 Macey Ave. site, the modular homes are being installed this week by crane, bringing the project a significant step closer to occupancy, which is anticipated to take place next month. The City\u2019s Modular Housing Initiative is building affordable rental homes that also offer support services, designed for people who are currently experiencing homelessness.
