Register <a href=\"https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/9a45cf8dd5d4\/esbgc-free-pick-up-lunch-on-friday-may-8th-register-now-12451910\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prime Minister announces new mobile app to help notify Canadians of COVID-19 exposure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the upcoming launch of a new nation-wide mobile app to provide notifications of exposure to COVID-19 across Canada, with beta testing to begin in Ontario. The app will help Canadians and public health officials identify and isolate the spread of the virus more quickly. Use of the app will be voluntary. For more information please read the <a href=\"https:\/\/pm.gc.ca\/en\/news\/news-releases\/2020\/06\/18\/prime-minister-announces-new-mobile-app-help-notify-canadians-covid\">news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ontario enhancing COVID-19 case and contact management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the province safely and gradually reopens, the Ontario government is enhancing case and contact management to quickly test, trace and isolate cases of COVID-19 to stop the spread of the virus and prepare for any potential future waves. The government\u2019s enhanced strategy focuses on strengthening and standardizing case and contact management by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ensuring all new cases and close contacts are identified early<\/li><li>Support public health units with additional staff from Statistic Canada<\/li><li>Improve technology tools by modernizing Integrated Public Health Information Systems<\/li><li>Launching a privacy-first exposure notification app to alert Ontarians when they may have been exposed to COVID-19<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information please read the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.ontario.ca\/opo\/en\/2020\/06\/ontario-enhancing-covid-19-case-and-contact-management.html\">news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Temporary Commercial Eviction Moratorium<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yesterday, the Ontario government passed the&nbsp;<em>Protecting Small Business Act<\/em>, temporarily halting or reversing evictions of commercial tenants and protecting them from being locked out or having their assets seized during COVID-19. The legislation applies to businesses that are eligible for federal\/provincial rent assistance for evictions from May 1, 2020 until August 31, 2020. Learn more <a href=\"https:\/\/news.ontario.ca\/mma\/en\/2020\/6\/ontario-pauses-commercial-evictions.html\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mandatory masks or face coverings on the TTC<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Effective July 2, 2020 masks or face coverings will be mandatory on the TTC. Children under two and those with medical conditions will be exempt. Instructions for wearing a mask and making your own simple face covering are available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ttc.ca\/Riding_the_TTC\/Safety_and_Security\/Masks.jsp\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Registration for Caf\u00e9TO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration is now open for Caf\u00e9TO. The proposed new program aims to make it easier for many restaurant and bar operators to open patios, expand them, and access additional space for physical distancing, in accordance with public health guidelines, safety priorities, and accessibility requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Restaurant and bar operators can visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/cafeTO\">toronto.ca\/cafeTO<\/a> to learn more about the proposed program, its requirements and how to register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/87bd-TS_CafeTO-Guidelines.pdf\">Caf\u00e9TO Placement Guidebook<\/a> is now online. The <a href=\"http:\/\/app.toronto.ca\/tmmis\/viewAgendaItemHistory.do?item=2020.EX14.1\">Caf\u00e9TO staff report<\/a> that will be considered by Executive Committee on June 22, followed by Council on June 29 is now available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ORHMA webinar for local restaurants and bars<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ontario Restaurant Hotel &amp; Motel Association (ORHMA) is planning a complimentary 1-hour webinar for business owners to help prepare establishments for re-opening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration for the webinar is <a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tJAud-6sqDgrHtU4mRvPeM92oYzPGhI2aOt1\">now open<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Topic: Patio Opening &amp; Extensions for establishments in the City of Toronto<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When: Tuesday June 23 at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who: Representatives from ORHMA will be joined by representatives from the Alcohol &amp; Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and the City of Toronto&#8217;s Municipal Licensing and Standards (MLS) who will offer their input and answer questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ActiveTO major road closures, Quiet Streets &amp; Cycling Network<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following ActiveTO Major Road closures that will be in place this weekend, from Saturday, June 20 at 6 a.m. to Sunday, June 21 at 11 p.m. include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lake Shore Boulevard West (eastbound lanes only) from Windermere Avenue to Stadium Road. As a result, the eastbound Gardiner Expressway off ramp to Lake Shore Boulevard West (exit #146) will also be closed<\/li><li>Lake Shore Boulevard East (eastbound lanes only) from Leslie Street to just south of Woodbine Avenue (Kew Beach Avenue)<\/li><li>Bayview Avenue from Front Street East to Rosedale Valley Road, and River Street from Gerrard Street East to Bayview Avenue<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An online map is available to residents with locations that have been installed as part of CurbTO for businesses (pickup zones and pedestrian zones) and installed ActiveTO locations for residents. Residents can view the map at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/activeTO\">http:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/activeTO<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CampTO programs start July 13<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The City of Toronto will begin to offer summer camps across the city starting on July 13 as part of its CampTO initiative. CampTO is a new creative camp experience that offers outdoor and physical activities, active and quiet games, arts and crafts, and nature-based activities. This camp features additional staff for smaller camper to leader ratios to help maintain physical distancing in camp and ensure safe supervision of campers. Guidelines include lower ratios and capacity, physical distancing, mandatory health screening and enhanced facility cleaning. CampTO is designed for maximum fun and safety for campers 6 \u2013 12 years of age. Learn more at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/explore-enjoy\/recreation\/campto\/#location=&amp;lat=&amp;lng=\">toronto.ca\/camps<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>City of Toronto records 1,000 deaths due to COVID-19<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The City of Toronto today announced the 1,000th death due to COVID-19 and sends its deepest sympathies to the family and friends for their loss. This tragic milestone is a reminder that we must all continue our efforts to fight COVID-19 and protect people in our community. Learn more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/news\/city-of-toronto-records-1000-deaths-due-to-covid-19\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>City of Toronto update on COVID-19 cases<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a>There are 13,661 cases of COVID-19 in the city, an increase of 73 cases since yesterday. <\/a>There are 276 people hospitalized, with 72 in ICU. In total, 11,501 people have recovered from COVID-19, an increase of 104 cases since yesterday. Case status data can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/home\/covid-19\/covid-19-latest-city-of-toronto-news\/covid-19-status-of-cases-in-toronto\">City\u2019s&nbsp;reporting platform<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents are reminded of the importance of adhering to Toronto Public Health\u2019s advice to wash their hands often,&nbsp;stay within their social circle of no more than 10 people,&nbsp;practise physical distancing, or wear a face covering or non-medical mask to protect others when in settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Boys\u2019 and Girls\u2019 Club of East Scarborough Youth Summit: Youth Impact 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Boys\u2019 and Girls\u2019 Club of East Scarborough Presents a two-day fun filled youth conference through Zoom. Throughout the conference, participants enjoy a multitude of workshops where they can develop essential personal skills, and get educated on topics like financial literacy, goal planning, and personal development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Youth Summit includes 2-days of workshops (4 in total) two workshops on Tuesday June 23 and two workshops Wednesday June 24.
