School playgrounds, fields\nand equipment will also be closed. Green spaces remain open for walking and\njogging&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TCHC\u2019s Our Client Care Centre received several reports yesterday from\ntenants who were called by someone claiming to a volunteers offering to deliver\ngroceries to their homes, and then requesting their banking information. The\nfollowing message has been shared with TCHC tenants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FRAUD WARNING:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tenants: If you get a call from a \u201cvolunteer\u201d offering to deliver\ngroceries who then asks for your banking or credit card information, hang up.\nIt\u2019s a scam. If you\u2019ve been the victim of fraud, report it to local police.\nToronto Community Housing staff or first responders calling you during the\nCOVID-19 emergency will never ask for your banking or credit information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ontario\u2019s Action Plan: Responding to COVID-19&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, Finance Minister Rod Phillips released Ontario\u2019s Action Plan:\nResponding to COVID-19 (March 2020 Economic and Fiscal Update).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government\u2019s action plan is a first step in its response to COVID-19\nand includes $7 billion in additional resources for the health care system and\ndirect support for people and jobs. It also will make available $10 billion in\nsupport for people and businesses through tax and other deferrals to improve\ntheir cash flow, protecting jobs and household budgets. Being prepared for\nemergencies is good advice but purchasing in bulk jeopardizes the ability for\nvulnerable people to get food and health supplies and other essential\nsupplies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The City\u2019s website is updated daily with the latest health advice and\ninformation about City services and social supports.
