For the snow event of December 1, here is an update on Transportation\nServices’ winter operations plans as of December 2 at 9am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Note: These plans are estimates only and subject to changing\nconditions such as timing of the event and the amount\/type of\nprecipitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weather: Periods of snow lingering over the\nregion through to 6am then tapering back to flurries for the remainder of\nMonday morning. Also wind gusts up to 40 km\/h will linger through to Monday\nafternoon. Flurries will diminish and winds ease with dry conditions expected\nfor Monday night. Dry conditions will continue throughout the day on Tuesday\nbefore a series of weak systems will move through with mainly flurries and only\na few periods of snow for Tuesday night lingering through to Wednesday\nafternoon with a trace – 1cm possible every 12hrs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Roadway\nSalting: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
–\n \nMultiple rounds of salt have been applied to expressways, arterial, and\ncollector roads. Roads are being salted again Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
–\n Local\nroads were salted on Sunday. A second round commenced through the\novernight period and will continue through Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Roadway Plowing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– \n1st<\/sup> round of plowing operations on arterial and collector\nroads, were completed by approx. 12am Monday. 2nd<\/sup> round\nof plowing commenced overnight and will continue through the am rush hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n – \nAs a result of the overnight snow, we have reached the required 8cm threshold\nto begin plowing local roads. Local road plowing will begin at approx.\n9am and continue into late Monday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trails & Separated Bike Lanes<\/p>\n\n\n\n – \nThe Martin Goodman Trail, Humber Bay Waterfront Trail and separated bike lanes\nhave been salted\/plowed again this morning.
