{"id":533,"date":"2019-12-01T21:12:46","date_gmt":"2019-12-02T02:12:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paulainslie.com\/blog\/?p=533"},"modified":"2019-12-01T21:12:46","modified_gmt":"2019-12-02T02:12:46","slug":"sunday-evening-snow-fall-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paulainslie.com\/blog\/2019\/12\/01\/sunday-evening-snow-fall-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday Evening Snow Fall Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Good Evening Ward 24 Neighbours,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the snow event of December 1, here is an update on City of Toronto Transportation\nServices&#8217;&nbsp; winter&nbsp;operations plans as of December 1 at 6pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>***Note:\u00a0 These plans are estimates only and subject to changing conditions such as timing of the event and\u00a0the amount\/type of precipitation.***<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Weather:&nbsp;&nbsp;Light snow becomes spotty and\nintermittent late this afternoon and continues overnight ending by mid Monday\nmorning. Wet snow amounts of 2 to 4 cm are possible by late in the day with the\nhighest amounts on grassy and elevated surfaces. An additional 2 or 3 cm is\npossible overnight along with some patchy freezing drizzle before it ends\nMonday morning. Winds will continue to gust to 60 km\/h at times this afternoon\ndiminishing to gusting 40 km\/h overnight and through the day tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Due to insufficient\nsnow accumulation, it is unlikely that local roads will be plowed in response\nto this snow event<\/strong>.&nbsp; High &amp; low pedestrian volume sidewalks, as well as\nseparated&nbsp;bike lanes, will be cleared\/salted multiple times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roadway\nSalting:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Salting\noperations in all areas of the city commenced at approx. 8am \u2013 9am\nSunday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nMultiple rounds of salt have been applied to expressways, arterial, and\ncollector roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nSalters will complete their first round of salting on local roads later this\nevening.&nbsp; As second round will be applied through the overnight period and\ninto Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roadway Plowing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nPlowing operations on arterial and collector roads, where required, commenced\nat approx. 1pm \u2013 2pm and will be completed by approx. 12am.&nbsp; There may be\nsome cleanup operation through the overnight period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nNo plowing operations on local roads due to lack of accumulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trails &amp; Separated Bike Lanes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nApprox 3 rounds of salting &amp; plowing of the Martin Goodman Trail &amp;\nHumber Bay Waterfront Trail since approx. 8am Sunday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nApprox 3 rounds of salting &amp; plowing of the separated bike lanes since\napprox. 8am Sunday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nApprox 3 rounds of salting &amp; plowing on trails and bike lanes since approx.\n8am Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sidewalks &amp; Bus Stops<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nFirst round of mechanical sidewalk clearing on high pedestrian volume sidewalks\nand bus stops commenced at approx. 10am Sunday and will be completed Sunday\nevening<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
