{"id":27,"date":"2016-09-29T09:44:12","date_gmt":"2016-09-29T13:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paulainslie.com\/blog\/?p=27"},"modified":"2016-09-29T09:44:12","modified_gmt":"2016-09-29T13:44:12","slug":"ward-43-residents-update-september-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paulainslie.com\/blog\/2016\/09\/29\/ward-43-residents-update-september-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Ward 43 Residents Update September 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>September 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Facebook: Councillor Paul Ainslie<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulainslie.com\/\">www.paulainslie.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Twitter: @cllrainslie<\/p>\n<p>Facebook: Paul Ainslie<\/p>\n<p>Instagram: paulainslie<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dear Ward 43 Residents,<\/p>\n<p>Back to School!<\/p>\n<p>With the return to school our minds turn to the safety on our roads.\u00a0 Last February I brought this matter to City Council requesting the installation process for school crossing guards to be reviewed by the Toronto Police Services to understand why all of my request for placements are being denied on a regular basis.\u00a0 True to government form\u2026..This matter has now been placed as an item for review under the Transformational Task Force (TTF) interim report released on June 16, entitled\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/tpsnews.ca\/stories\/2016\/07\/take-part-tps-modernization\/tps.on.ca\/TheWayForward\/docs\/report_full.pdf\"><strong><em>The Way Forward: Modernizing Community Safety in Toronto<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0The report recommends the placement of school crossing guards be placed under the preview of the City of Toronto.\u00a0 Your comments on the task force recommendations including those on crossing guards are welcome by emailing <a href=\"mailto:thewayforward@torontopolice.on.ca\">thewayforward@torontopolice.on.ca<\/a> with a copy to <a href=\"mailto:councillor_ainslie@toronto.ca\">councillor_ainslie@toronto.ca<\/a>.\u00a0 I look forward to hearing from you.<\/p>\n<p>The planning for a Community Hub in Scarborough East is moving forward.\u00a0 Several meetings have taken place at the Sir Robert Borden BTI, 200 Poplar site and at City Hall.\u00a0 I am working with the province, City staff and stakeholders who have come forward with the desire to operate a Community Hub at this location.\u00a0 The prospects are very positive.<\/p>\n<p>The Toronto Ward Boundary Review (TWBR) team is seeking feedback from the public on two items outlined in the Toronto Ward Boundary Review on the revised option 2 which has 44 Wards and incorporates the refinements suggested during the TWBR public consultation process in August &#8211; November 2015 as well as a Ward option that is aligned, where possible, with the boundaries of the 25 federal and provincial ridings. There are two ways to provide comments: complete a survey (<a href=\"http:\/\/drawthelines.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4dff103d147f3209d29833e4c&amp;id=6b843feef9&amp;e=d3e26709c3\">Online<\/a> or in <a href=\"http:\/\/drawthelines.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4dff103d147f3209d29833e4c&amp;id=d7c3c5993f&amp;e=d3e26709c3\">PDF<\/a>) or attend the September 15, 2016 7pm- 9pm public consultation at the Scarborough Civic Center. Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drawthelines.ca\">Report<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n<p>The TTC will be discussing all community bus requests including my proposal for Ward 43 this Fall together with a Wheel Trans Review.\u00a0 The report encompasses a strategy including routings, phasing, benefits, and cost implications.
