EV Charging Station at Scarborough&#8217;s Toyota Canada!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Here are my comments on the new EV charging stations which were unveiled at 1 Toyota Place today in Ward 24 Scarborough-Guildwood:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Good afternoon everyone,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is a pleasure to be here today in Scarborough for the unveiling of Jule\u2019s new EV Fast Charging System.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This is a proud moment for our community, and I want to thank Jule, Toyota Canada, and Mitsui Canada for their leadership and investment in clean technology right here in Scarborough,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and for helping to shape the future of transportation not just in Toronto, but across Canada and North America.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As many of you know, transportation is the second-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in Toronto.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 2022, passenger vehicles alone accounted for 23% of our city\u2019s emissions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That is why the City of Toronto has committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2040 through our TransformTO Net Zero Strategy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One of our key targets is for 30% of all registered vehicles in Toronto to be electric by 2030.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>But to get there, we need the right infrastructure and that is exactly what today\u2019s event is about.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Public EV charging, especially fast charging, is essential for people who can\u2019t charge at home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s also vital for encouraging more people to make the switch to electric.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This new fast charging system is more than just a piece of technology, it is a symbol of progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It represents cleaner air, quieter streets, and a more sustainable future for our city.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thank you again to Jule, Toyota, and Mitsui for your partnership and your commitment to innovation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your work in battery energy storage, EV charging, and EV vehicles is important to our city\u2019s climate goals and economic growth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And thank you to
