Making an impact at Community Development and Recreation Committee
As tax payers we should all experience the same benefits the City of Toronto has to offer. Keeping this in mind on January 12, 2009 during my first Community Development and Recreation Committee meeting I put forward a motion requesting all City outdoor rinks be opened simultaneously.
With this motion Parks, Recreation and Forestry are to submit a report to the Community Development and Recreation Committee as soon as possible and for consideration within 2009 operating budget.
Currently the Nathan Philips Square outdoor ice rink is operational from November 26 in most cases two weeks ahead of the other 48 City run artificial outdoor rinks. Although located in the downtown core it is not located within communities or neighbourhoods which would make the best use of the amenity.
I will continue to serve the communities by making an impact as a member of the Community Development and Recreation Committee and other boards and committee’s I serve on to represent you.
